Our Egg-iting Halloween Competition is becoming somewhat of annual event and this year we have really gone to the Xtreme with a spooktastic sweet treat competition, which is guaranteed to get even the biggest Deadhead thinking, so you can Chomp down on the Bounty we’ve gathered…
We’ve created a word puzzle and the prize up for grabs is a varied selection of tasty chocolate bar sweet treats. Here’s a behind the scenes look at how we created this mouth-watering competition.
First of all we hit the shops and picked out some delicious chocolates that we thought we could transform into a story.
Once we had the chocolates, we got to work creating the story and a central part of that had to be, of course, our lovely Roman at Home Community! After much deliberating we could then get it all mapped out onto a giant piece of cardboard.
We started by laying the chocolates out, so we could figure out the spacing.
We then filled in the story in, writing in pencil so any mistakes could easily be rubbed out.
Once we were happy with the size of the writing and the spelling, we added the dark permanent marker, so it would be nice and easy for you guys to read.
The final stage was sticking on the tasty treats. We used double sided sticky tape and a little extra sellotape for the more troublesome sweets, which refused to stick (we did get showered in sweets when we first attempted to hold the cardboard up!).
Not forgetting to leave out one of the sweets, so you can all get guessing at what the missing treat/word is.
